What is Marietta Art in the Park? The Art in the Park Festival is a fine art show featuring artists from around the country. Art includes jewelry, pottery, painting, woodworking, metal, textile, sculpture, glass and photography. The festival is the best fine art festival in Cobb County and draws an estimated 40,000 people to the square each year.
Is there a fee for the festival? No. Admission is free.
Where does Art in the Park take place? In Glover Park on the historic Marietta Square. The GPS address is 50 N. Park Square, Marietta GA, 30060.
Where should I park? Free parking includes the two Cobb County Parking Decks (off Waddell and Haynes St), the lot at the corner of Mill St & N. Marietta Parkway-by the rainroad tracks and any curbside parking spaces. The private lots around the square may charge a fee.
Will any streets be closed? Yes, North, East Park Square and the parking spaces on West and South Park Square at 6:00 pm the Friday and will not reopen until Monday night after 9:00.
How many artists will be there? There are 150 artists from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Lousianna, North & South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Georgia.
Are there activities for the kids? Yes, there are many free make & take art stations. The Interactive Art Area is located next to the Strand Theatre on Cherokee Street. There will also be a number of activities such as face painting, sand art and inflatable’s that will require a small fee.
Will there be food at the festival? There are many restaurants located on the Marietta Square that serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Food will also be available at the Marietta Square Farmers Market on Saturday morning from 9am – 12pm. Beer, wine, water and coke products will be sold on site.
Is there an ATMs close by? Yes! There is an ATM machine at the Bank of America on Cherokee street and also on the front the Strand Theatre.
Can I bring my dog to Art in the Park? We request that folks with dogs and other pets leave them at home where there is adequate shade and water. The majority of the festival is located on the city streets and with the September heat it can be extremely hot on their paws.
Where are the restrooms? Public restrooms are located at the Marietta Welcome Center and Visitors Bureau in the old train depot building. There will also be portable restrooms, including the famous, award winning Painted Pots, on Root Street and at the south end of East Park Square. These Painted Pots are the only painted portable restrooms in the state of Georgia and were first seen during the 2008 festival. A fun photo opportunity.
